Now that I have lots of time on my hands, it seems apt to refocus my energies on personal growth areas. Between afternoons at the gym, dog park, and lunch with underemployed comrades it seems I ought to nurture my journalistic tendencies. How else does one create a body of work fit for the critical eyes of hiring managers?
Now, when I say I have lots of time on my hands, that’s not to say that I spend much time doing nothing at all. I live in Manhattan after all, and there is never any shortage of activities to keep me feeling productive and fulfilled; sometimes I even wonder, ‘how could I sustain this permanently?’ Still, plenty of free time coupled with a mild case of FOMO (fear-of-missing-out) — a recognized condition brought to my attention only recently — leaves New York and, well, the world at my fingertips.
